# GuestWalls privacy policy Canonical human page: https://guestwalls.com/privacy Effective: July 25, 2026 ## What GuestWalls processes Hosts create an account and events. GuestWalls processes the host's account identifiers, event settings, event code, moderation choices, and messages or photos submitted to an event. Guests do not create accounts; they may provide a display name, message, reaction, and optional photo. ## Why the data is used GuestWalls uses the data to authenticate hosts, run event walls, enforce guest passwords, moderate and display posts, prevent abuse, provide playback, maintain security, and respond to support or legal requests. GuestWalls does not sell personal data or use guest posts for targeted advertising. ## Service providers and analytics Clerk provides host authentication. Convex provides the application database, realtime functions, and file storage. Hosting and delivery providers process network and device information needed to serve the site securely. Google Analytics runs on public marketing pages only. It does not run on event walls, guest posting pages, or the host dashboard, so guest messages and photos are not sent to it. ## Guest access and host controls Guests join with an event code and, when enabled by the host, an event password. A short-lived access token is stored in the guest's browser session. Host dashboards require an authenticated account. Hosts control moderation and can remove posts. ## Retention and deletion Active events remain available to their host. Closing an event immediately stops guest access and new posts. The host retains dashboard and playback access during a 30-day retention window and may reopen the event. The event, posts, and stored media are then automatically deleted. A host may permanently delete a closed event sooner. ## Rights, children, and contact Hosts can edit, close, reopen during the retention window, or delete their events. Guests should ask the event host to remove a post. Depending on location, people may have additional data rights. GuestWalls is intended for event hosts and invited audiences, not for children to independently create host accounts. Privacy questions or rights requests: privacy@guestwalls.com
